Dear Families,
Blessings to you from our Early Education Center (EEC) at Christian School of York! I am honored to take a few moments to share with you all that God is doing at the EEC.
Our building was the vision of Dr. David Thompson, our beloved headmaster from June 2007 - March 2009. Dr. Thompson went home to be with the Lord; however, his commitment to Christian education and furthering Christ's kingdom, lives on through this wonderful facility and all those who work and grow here.
The EEC has seven spacious classrooms, each with its own bathroom (perfect for our little ones who are working on their "independent bathrooming" skills!). The flooring in each classroom is half warm-tone tile, and half wall-to-wall carpet. This allows for the wide variety of activities that happen each day - from painting, shaving cream, and exciting science experiments, to morning meeting time which happens "criss-cross applesauce" on our cozy carpet by the calendar board. Each room also has 2-5 large windows which provide plenty of sunshine for our children.
There are two very special rooms in the EEC: The G.R.E.A.T. Room and the Imagination Station. Please see the links to these rooms, in the drop-down box for Early Education on this website. These are AMAZING spaces we have been blessed to create to enhance the environment for your children, offering meaningful, and powerful learning moments across the five developmental domains that we have identified: spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical.
Our teachers and teacher's aides are committed Christians who have chosen to dedicate their life career to working with young children. They are trained professionals, who deeply value excellence in education, and know that the years your child spends in the EEC, will help lay a solid foundation for your child's future.

Our entire program is God-centered, as we partner with Christian parents to raise Christian children. We follow what we have established as our "Give Me Five" philosophy. This incorporates five developmental domains: spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical. We know that renowned child experts, like Dr. David Elkind (The Power of Play; The Hurried Child), have decades of research that supports the importance of growing the whole child. At the EEC, we recognize that not just the brain comes to school!
Research reveals that children who are academically strong at the onset of their educational career, may very well begin to suffer academically, if time is not given to developing these children across ALL the domains. It is through hands-on, intentional discovery, focused on meeting the individual learning styles of each child, that the most meaningful and powerful learning takes place.
