Elementary Curriculum & Grading Scale

The core subjects of the elementary curriculum include language arts which strongly emphasizes phonics and comprehension, math, social studies, science and Bible. The students are also instructed in Spanish, art, music (vocal and instrumental), computer, library skills and physical education.

The letter grades (A  94-100,  B 85-93,  C 76-84,  D 70-75,  F 0-69) will be given for reading, English, math, science, social studies, spelling and Bible.

Students in grades K, 1 and 2 will receive “O, S, I, N, and U” for science and social studies.

Students in grades 1-5 will receive “O, S, I, N, and U” for Handwriting.

Art, physical education, music, and computer for grades 1-5 will be evaluated with an “O, S, I, N, and U.”

Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math

The Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math programs challenge students at all levels. Gifted students may receive a greater independent challenge, while those catching-up feel successful with their own goals. Accelerated Math enhances the math curriculum for our second through fifth graders.
