The Early Education Center (PK2 – PK5)

The newest addition to our program is the Early Education Center.  This facility is utilized to prepare children whose total development has been facilitated and made ready for the growing challenges of childhood and future academic success. Our desire is for our students to grow and learn as they engage in developmentally appropriate activities and experiences throughout the day.

Curriculum & Grading

The EEC curriculum is developed around our “Give Me Five” philosophy. This describes the five domains of development we seek to grow in every student: spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical. Children experience language arts, with a strong emphasis on readiness skills and love of the written and spoken word, math, science, social studies and Bible. Our students are enriched by our specials: Spanish, music and physical education. Our hands-on, developmentally appropriate atmosphere allows each child the opportunity and security to fulfill their natural love of learning while building skills for a lifetime of educational success.

EEC children are assessed through observation, classroom work, and age-appropriate verbal, written, and hands-on testing. Observation reports will be issued at intervals throughout the school year.
Our grading rubric is as follows:
C = consistently demonstrates skill/concept
P = still practicing skill/concept
P+ = area of possible concern
Y = skill/concept not yet assessedPrograms

PreK 2 (age 2 by Oct. 31)

Our "Give Me Five" educational philosophy begins in PK2, where our students grow spiritually, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically!  This is accomplished through hands-on, sensory-rich experiences and warm, loving interactions with our trained staff.

PK2 meets two mornings (8:15 -11:15 AM)

PreK 3 (age 3 by Oct. 31)
CSY’s quality developmental program begins in pre-kindergarten. An interactive curriculum consisting of developmentally appropriate academic and social readiness skills is developed through cooperative play, small group instruction using theme-based learning, and hands-on discovery learning. Bible stories with life application skills are incorporated throughout the curriculum.

Parents have the choice of two, three or five mornings (8:15 -11:15 AM) or five full days (8:15 AM - 3:15 PM)

PreK 4 (age 4 by Oct. 31)

The PreK 4 classroom is designed to provide developmentally appropriate learning in a small group setting. The students’ day will consist of a balance of whole group, small group, and individual activities with periods of quiet work and active exploration.

Parents have the choice of two, three or five mornings (8:15 -11:15 AM) or five full days  (8:15 AM - 3:15 PM)

PreK 5 (age 5 by Dec. 31)

The PreK5 program meets the needs of those students who require the extra year to reach their developmental milestones, who may be just entering a pre-kindergarten environment, or who have missed the cutoff date of September 1 for kindergarten.

Parents have the choice of five half days (8:15 -11:15 AM) or five full days (8:15 AM - 3:15 PM)
