Christian School of York K-12 Families,

“Virtual CSY” is Christian School of York’s remote learning program. CSY’s mission remains - to produce students who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and practice their faith in all of life and learning. Rest assured, the Virtual CSY Team is committed to this mission, and thus to maintaining our high-quality, biblically-centered education with which our CSY Family is accustomed.

To continue our high level of education, Virtual CSY must have several very important components: our awesome teachers, their instruction, and dynamic classrooms full of activity and discussion!

Teachers and “Live” Instruction
Our awesome CSY teachers will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each week day, and will provide “live” face-to-face instruction via Zoom on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The “Zoom Resource for Parents” document may be viewed using the following link: This file contains links to video tutorials that will assist you in setting up Zoom, joining a Zoom conference, and understanding the controls within Zoom.

The Virtual CSY Team has developed a schedule for the “live” instruction for each grade and class. The “Remote Learning Schedules” file contains schedules for each division, optional lower and middle school enrichment classes, and instrumental lessons. You may view the document using the following link:

Dynamic Classrooms
Virtual CSY utilizes Google Classroom, a Learning Management System (LMS). Within each “classroom”, teachers and students will interact with one another and engage in challenging, thought-provoking activities. To better explain Google Classroom, a resource document titled, “Google Classroom Resource for Parents”, may be viewed at: This resource includes a very helpful tutorial video that explains the LMS from both a teacher’s and student’s perspective. The Virtual CSY Team encourages you to watch this video – the 19 minutes is definitely worthwhile!

In order to access the Google Classroom app, each family or student will need a Gmail account. If needed, a step-by-step tutorial can be viewed at the following link: . Step-by-step directions for checking the Google Calendar are also included in this document. Once signed into Gmail, families/students will have access to the Google Calendar. Accessing the calendar will be helpful for families and students, as the due dates for assignments will be included once teachers post assignments and the corresponding due dates in their “classrooms”. If families/students are unable to attend the “live” sessions, our goal is to provide recorded portions of the teachers’ instruction that can be viewed when convenient. The recorded files will be posted within the teachers’ applicable “classroom”.

Next Steps
Our first official day of Virtual CSY will be Monday, March 30th! As we all continue to prepare for our first official day “back to school”, we will continue to share additional information with you. Google Classroom Codes will be shared with families and students. This will allow you to “enter” the classrooms and see what your teachers have been preparing for you – it is like Blue & White Night! Exciting!

As we continue to walk through this tumultuous time, God continues to remind me of several verses:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” ~ Joshua 1:9 (ESV)
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ~Phil 4:6-7 (NLT)
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” ~Phil 4:13 (ESV)

Working together as a family, guided by our Lord and Savior, I am reminded...He is in control, and we’ve got this! We continue to keep all of you in our prayers, and as always, thank you for your continued support and prayers.

Many Blessings,

Christine Huffman
