Requirements
Christian School of York is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance with proven accounting and financial analysis skills. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel is required. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, thrives on accuracy, and can manage the full accounting cycle from start to
finish.
Key responsibilities for this position include the following:
Manage the full general ledger, including month end and yearend close
Process accounts payable including item procurement and assist with accounts
receivable
Prepare and reconcile bank and credit card statements
Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules
Maintain accurate and organized accounting files and documentation
Oversee budgeting, cashflow tracking, and forecasting
Coordinate with external accountants for tax filings and audits
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting best practices
Qualifications
At least five years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (full charge experience
preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP and standard bookkeeping procedures
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with vendors, clients, and
internal teams
