Welcome Back to School, CSY!

CSY Families,

We are incredibly excited to welcome back our students and staff for the 2023-2024 school year! The summer has been a busy season, highlighted by safety training and enhancements, property and building improvements, enrollment growth, new teacher and staff hires and evaluation of our programs and services. During our Back to School Nights, scheduled for August 21st for Middle & Upper Schools and August 31st for Preschool & Lower School, we will go into greater detail about these improvements.

“In a culture that’s skeptical and even hostile toward Christianity, our conduct matters more than ever. Our neighbors don’t just need to hear the gospel, they need to see how it changes people.” - Robert Thune

The first day of school for all students is August 23rd. This year our school’s theme will be, “Take a Stand - Be an Example”. As the Robert Thune quote on the next page reminds us, this world not only needs to hear about God’s truth, but our communities also need to see how God’s love has transformed us. We are all familiar with a common saying, “easier said than done”, but with the power of the Holy Spirit we know all things are possible (Phil. 4:13). My prayer is that, through our school, the instruction of our teachers, the influence of our coaches, the mentoring of our administrators and the messages of our chapels, our children will be inspired and motivated to take a stand and set an example. The Bible gives our youth explicit instruction on their behaviors in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

As parents, I encourage you to be in prayer for all of our children. May those who know Him mature in taking ownership of their faith and may those who have yet to accept Jesus be led to do so. May we show our love of God to those in our community by loving those in our community. And when the enemy attacks, may we stand at the foot of the cross! Amen.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer and we look forward to seeing all of you soon!

Stay rooted,

R. Andrew Bell Superintendent Christian School of York
